Hunar.AI raises ₹40 crore to bring AI hiring to India's frontline workers

Hiring delivery partners, store staff or factory workers is very different from hiring office employees. The numbers are huge, people are spread across many cities and they speak many languages. Hunar.AI is building AI for exactly this problem, and it has raised ₹40 crore in a Series A round.

What Hunar.AI does

Founded in 2022 by Krishna Khandelwal and Shantanu Bhattacharyya, Hunar.AI has two products, Hunar Voice and Hunar Connect. They use conversational AI agents that talk to candidates and workers over voice calls, WhatsApp and chat.

These agents can handle sourcing and screening candidates, scheduling interviews, onboarding, training and keeping workers engaged. That lets companies manage thousands of frontline workers without a huge HR team on the phone all day.

Where the money goes

The company will spend the funds on building its AI infrastructure, improving the product and expanding sales.

CEO Khandelwal calls frontline workforce management one of the largest but most underserved opportunities in enterprise AI, and says it needs deep industry knowledge and strong multilingual skills, not just general AI models.

Why it matters

India has crores of frontline workers. A tool that hires and supports them in their own language, on WhatsApp, could change how big employers work.
