Privacy Policy

Day1 Startup Media ("Day1", "we") runs the news website day1startup.com. This page explains, in plain words, what happens to your data when you read it.
The short version
- You can read every story without an account, a sign-up or a login. We have no reader accounts.
- We do not run ads, we do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use tracking cookies.
- We do not use session-replay, screen-recording or heatmap tools.
- We do not send newsletters or marketing emails.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless: it does not set cookies or use your browser's storage, and it does not build a profile of you. It tells us things like which pages were read, the referring website, and the country, browser and device type, as totals. We use this only to see which stories people read.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web server, it processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse. We do not use this information to identify you.
Fonts and other files
Day1 uses the fonts already on your device. We do not load fonts from Google Fonts or any other outside font service. Our pages, styles and images are served from our own site.
The "Post your story" form
The form on Post your story does not send anything to our server and nothing is stored on our site. When you press the button, WhatsApp opens with your message ready to send. Only if you press Send in WhatsApp do we receive it. We use those details only to talk to you about featuring your startup. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to messages sent through it.
Links, sharing and translation
Our social and share buttons open the other service (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, X and others), and that service's privacy policy applies there. The "Read in" language option opens the page through Google Translate, and Google's privacy policy applies to that translated page. Links to source articles take you to other websites we don't control.
Children
Day1 is a general news site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Post your story form is meant for founders and adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you send us any personal details. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us what information you sent us (for example a Post your story message), or ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us and we will do it.
