Flipkart is coming for food delivery with 'Eat-In by Minutes'
Flipkart is testing Eat-In by Minutes, a food delivery service, with employees in Bengaluru, and is reportedly offering restaurants a much lower commission.

India's food delivery market is about to get a new big player. Flipkart is getting ready to launch Eat-In by Minutes, its own food delivery service, which is expected to go live by the end of October.
Being tested in Bengaluru
Right now the service is being tested with Flipkart's own employees in Bengaluru. It is expected to sit as a separate tab inside the main Flipkart app. Restaurants will be listed through ONDC (the government-backed open commerce network) as well as through direct tie-ups.
The big pitch: lower commission
The most interesting part is the money. Flipkart is reportedly proposing a base commission of about 10% for restaurants. Zomato and Swiggy typically charge around 20–25%. Flipkart also plans to spend less on discounts and promotions, which could leave restaurants with better margins.
For small restaurant owners, who often complain that high commissions eat their profits, that is a big promise.
What's next
According to reports, the service could expand to five or six cities by the end of 2026.
Why it matters
Food delivery in India has been a two-horse race for years. A player with Flipkart's reach and a lower-commission model could shake up pricing for restaurants and offers for customers. Whether it can match the speed and choice that users are used to is the big question.
